SADS is Standing Strong with You – and the Research Community

We want to assure our SADS community that the SADS Foundation is standing strong right here beside you. We are committed to helping advance new research and treatments for SADS conditions. Here are a few ways that we’re planning to do that:

• Starting a SADS Foundation registry in 2025. This will give researchers a reliable place to learn more about our conditions and needs.
• Applying for ICD-10 codes (International Classification of Diseases codes), which aid researchers in identifying those with SADS conditions and learning more about how these conditions affect people, which accelerates research. They also help reduce barriers to getting new treatments to market and ensure new therapies will be covered by insurance. 
• Giving research awards to young doctors, genetic counselors, and allied health professionals to encourage ongoing growth in the field.

SADS promises that we will continue to partner globally with leading researchers and advocacy groups to push for more investment in heart and rare disease research.
