Name: Waylon

How/when were you diagnosed?
When I was born, they found an unusual arrhythmia on my EKG after they noticed it when my Mom was in labor.
What is one positive thing that has come out of your diagnosis?
We were able to diagnose my Dad because no one was aware he also has the genetic mutation for Long QT type 1, he just has no symptoms.
What encouragement or advice would you give someone who has just been diagnosed with your condition?
I can still do what other babies do with no issue. Other than my diagnosis, I’m a normal baby who has to hit all the same milestones as every other baby.
What does your day-to-day life look like?
Getting into things, learning to crawl and pull myself up, yelling at my Mom when I’m hungry, the usual baby stuff.
