Simplifying the Ordering Experience

Genetic testing laboratories can ship testing kits to your office. The kits include the tubes and all packaging and shipping materials needed. Many will also send saliva or cheek-swab kits directly to the patient’s home so that they do not need a blood draw at the lab! Depending on the lab, the shipping of testing kits may occur automatically as part of the online ordering process. You may need to create an account with the lab you are using, but once you have done so once, the ordering process is very simple for future patients testing.

Remember, you can always let a genetic counselor help with the ordering process as well! They don’t just offer pre- and post-test counseling. They order genetic tests daily and have streamlined the process! Links to genetic counseling services can be found in the “Building Your Support Network” section of this page.
